MARVIN J. “JACK” KLEINWOLTERINK
     Marvin J. “Jack” Kleinwolterink, the youngest of 7 children of John and Jennie (Reekers) Kleinwolterink. Jack attended Sheldon Christian Grade School and Western Christian High School. He worked as a carpenter with his brother, Bob. He was united in marriage to Alyna Ann Berghorst on March 21, 1952, in Hull, IA. The couple made their home on a farm just west of Sheldon, where he farmed and milked cows. In 1972, he sold the cows and began working and driving feed truck for Sheldon Farmers Elevator. He fed cattle at the feedlot and also worked in the Matlock Elevator. On November 29, 1988, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alyna, from cancer. Then on November 4, 1995, he married Nell Nieuwendorp in Sheldon, IA. Jack retired in 1996, and they enjoyed wintering in Texas; they had many good times and good friends. Jack passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, IA reaching the age of 85 years, 9 months and 25 days.
     Jack was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Retirement did not slow him down, he remained a hard worker. He was a skilled woodworker and made many wonderful furniture and craft items for his children and grandchildren to treasure. He loved watching his grandchildren in their many different activities. Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and treasured family time. Jack had an “addiction” to Vintage Farm Toys and loved taking trips to sales to find the next treasure.
     Jack is survived by his wife, Nell of Sheldon; daughters: Marsha Sterk (Larry) of Sheldon, IA and Cheryl Madsen (Mark) of Hull, IA; sons: Brian (Kathy) of Hull, IA, John (Lisa) of Morris, MN and Keith (Kristin) of Sheldon, IA; 4 step children, Kent Nieuwendorp (Patty) of Sheldon; Sandra Struyk (Dave) of Grand Rapids, MI; Greg Nieuwendorp of Sheldon and Jeffery Nieuwendorp (Cindy) of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
     He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alyna; his parents and 3 sisters, Marie Vanden Brink, Johanna Van Aalsburg/Hoffmeyer and Myrna Griffioen; 3 brothers, Gerrit, Arthur and Robert.
