From the Boyden Reporter, February 15, 1923:

John Reyelts, Sr., a resident of northwest of Boyden, passed away last week Thursday, at the age of some 80 years. The old gentleman had been sick for several days. Funeral services were held on Monday at the Lutheran church near Hull. One of his sons, Henry B. Reyelts, lives in this community, his other children residing at Britton, S.D.

John Reyelts Dies Suddenly

John Reyelts, father of Henry Reyelts, passed away suddenly last week at the home of his son, north of Hull, where he had been making his home since Christmas time. He was standing on the floor talking to members of his family when suddenly he fell forward. Those present rushed to his assistance, but life was already extinct--a heart stroke being the cause of death. The deceased was in his 80th year.

The funeral was held from the St. Pauls Lutheran church north east of Hull Monday and was attended by a large crowd. Interment was made in the church cemetery nearby. Sincere sympathy is extended to the many Hull friends of the Reyelts family.
