The sudden death of Mr. Win. Winter, one of the prosperous and respected farmers of Garfield Township, Lyon County, was reported last Saturday morning. Mr. Winter had been taken suddenly with an attack of appendicitis and was taken to the Sibley Hospital, Monday, for an operation. Pneumonia set in, from which he did not recover.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church north east of Hull, Tuesday afternoon, August 14th, Rev. Ed. Goeringer being in charge. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives.
OBITUARY
Wm. Fredrich Winter was born December 2nd, 1892, in Garfield Township, Lyon County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. On May 7th, 1915, he was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Stueven of Wheeler Township, also of Lyon County. To this union four children were born, who with the wife are left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winter, of Rock Rapids, two brothers. Peter and Ernest, and two sisters, Margaretha and Meta.
