Arthur H. Heitritter, 53, who farmed three miles north and one mile west of Boyden, Iowa, passed away at 6:30 A.M. Sunday, November 9, 1958 at the Sheldon Community Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at 3:00 A.M. at the home of his mother, Mrs. Martha Heitritter. His illness was only three hours, when he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, where he passed away.

Mr. Heitritter was born November 3, 1905, on a farm north of Boyden where he farmed at the present time. He was the son of the late Fred Heitritter and Mrs. Martha Heitritter, who survives besides three sisters; (Elsie) Mrs. George Barenwald of Boyden; (Verna) Mrs. Martin Barenwald of George and (Julia) Mrs. Thomas Van Diepen of Garden Grove, California, and two brothers, Lewis Heitritter of Boyden and John Heitritter of George, Iowa. Besides a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Heitritter received his school training in rural schools and attended St. John’s Parochial School.

He served with the U.S. Army from September 24, 1942 with the 786th Tank Battalion and received his discharge on September 27, 1945.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church north of Boyden. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12 at 1:15 P.M. at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon and at 2:00 P.M. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Reverend P.A. Hinrichs officiating. The St. John’s Church Choir sang “Rock of Ages.”

Pallbearers were nephews, Loren Barenwald, Laryl Heitritter, Wayne Steuven, Ronald Heitritter, Bernard Graves and Duane Heitritter. Interment was held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, north of Boyden.

Relatives attending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schroeder and family of Hartley, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Henning and family of Hartley, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Van Diepen and son Tommy of Garden Grove, California, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nugent of Sibley and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Williamssen of Westbrook, Minnesota, besides a host of other relatives.
