Todd D. Heemstra passed away on Thursday, December 31, 1992, at the Baum-Harmon Memorial Hospital in Primghar after injuries received in an automobile accident, reaching the age of 23 years.

Todd Douglas Heemstra, the son of Larry and Joann Wiersema Heemstra was born December 31, 1969 in Hartley, Iowa. He received his education in Primghar schools and graduated from Primghar High School in 1988. He went on to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he graduated in 1992. He was employed by K-Products in Orange City in an entry level position.

He was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar and was active in the fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was involved in various missions projects throughout the United States and the world.

Todd leaves to cherish his memory his father Larry and step-mother Lois Heemstra of Primghar, three brothers and their wives, Jerry and Janet Heemstra of Carroll, Iowa; Dennis and Lori Heemstra of Primghar and Greg and Pat Heemstra of Rock Valley; two step-brothers and a step-sister, Jerad, Heather and Arthur De Vos of Primghar; three nephews, Jonathan, Michael and Marcus Heemstra; his maternal grandfather, Elmer Wiersema of Orange City; and his paternal grandfather, Jake Heemstra of Sanborn; his step-grandparents, John and Maureen Prins of Sanborn; also many aunts and uncles and cousins, a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joann, his maternal grandmother, Jeanette Wiersema, and his paternal grandmother, Jennie Heemstra.
