Norman William Heeren, 82, of rural Le Mars, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services were at 2 P.M. Monday, March 8, at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Le Mars, with Reverend Peter Boe officiating. Burial was in Christ Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Heeren was born January 2, 1917, in Grant Township, rural Le Mars, the son of Herman D. and Meta (Von Hagel) Heeren. He attended country school in Grant Township.

He married Ester Borchers on May 28, 1937, in Elk Point, South Dakota. She died August 14, 1970. He married Eleanor DuBois in October 1971. He farmed in Grant Township for over 60 years, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his wife, of Dubuque; two sons, Arlan and his wife, Rose, of rural Le Mars, and Gary, of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Jim, Doug, and Nick; three great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Anna and Alvin Klemme, of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Ahrendt and Clara Klemme.

Pallbearers were Jim, Doug, and Nick Heeren, Ralph Klemme, Kevin Borchers and Paul Ahrendt.
