Mr. William Heemskerk, age 71 years, 9 months and 20 days, departed from this life on Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness. He was born in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1904. He was married to Jacoba Van Leeuwen who preceded him in death by 6 years.

Mr. Heemskerk came to Boyden from Valley Springs, South Dakota, the church records revealing the transfer of his membership to this church from the Valley Springs, Reformed Church on March 25, 1934.

He leaves to mourn his loss one son, Sam Heemskerk, one brother, Lane Heemskerk of Hull, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He also had two other brothers and one sister who preceded him in death.
