George Haverkamp Passes On

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for George Haverkamp, 74, who died Friday evening at the Grossmann Hospital following a prolonged illness.

Born at Orange City he lived here all his life and was in business until he became ill a few years ago.

Survivors include his widow, Gertrude Vander Waa, daughter of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Vander Waa; 3 sons: George E. Haverkamp of Minneapolis; Robert Z. Haverkamp of Lake Forest, Illinois, and Clifford Haverkamp of Akron, Ohio. There are 8 grandchildren.

Four sisters preceded in death.

Reverend Alvin Hook, pastor of the American Reformed Church officiated and burial was in the local cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
