Mrs. John Haspels, 83, Boyden, died October 29 I a Sheldon Hospital after an illness.

Services were November 1 at the United Presbyterian Church, Boyden. The Reverend Paul Moon officiated. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home at Boyden.

Mrs. Haspels, the former Lottie Hoin, was born December 9, 1892, in Boyden. She was married September 17, 1913, in Orange City. Her husband died December 1, 1975, in Boyden.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Morian of Granger, Indiana; three sons, Cornelius of Sanborn, George of Ellsworth, Minnesota and Lester of Carlton, Kansas; a brother, Hubert of Boyden; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Eunice) Reimers and Mrs. Henry (Esther) Slykhuis, both of Boyden; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
