Born: November 9, 1895
Died: June 24, 1925

Anna Katharine Hausmann, wife of George Hausmann, daughter of Diedrick and Elsie Kruse, was born November 9th, in the year of 1895, on the farm of her parents in Wheeler Township, Lyon County. On November 17th, in the same year she was baptized and became a child of God. Under the guidance of her parents, and in a Christian School and Church, she was instructed in the Lutheran Faith. For a short time she attended the Lutheran Academy in Mankato, Minnesota. Grown to womanhood, she was married to George Hausmann, at St. Louis, Missouri, October 18th, 1915.They moved on a farm in Wheeler Township, Lyon County.

The marriage was a happy one and was blessed with five children. The outlook for them was bright, but God’s ways are not our ways. The deceased had to undergo several operations of which she recovered. About two months before her last baby was born, she began to fail. Every effort was made to regain her health. The diagnosis in Rochester, Minnesota was trouble of the kidneys and cancer of the spine. Day by day she became weaker, and she was forced to spend the last ten weeks in bed. The 11th of May she participated together with her husband and parents in the Holy Communion and prepared herself for the last journey and the last battle. Who would wonder when she expressed the wish to stay with her five little children and her dear husband for a while longer. But she overcame this and the will of God became her own. Wednesday, June 24th, the angel of death came and took her, as we hope to everlasting life.

Those who are the nearest to mourn her departure are the husband, the five children, her grandfather, her parents, her sisters and brothers and relatives. She reached the age of 29 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran Church, with Reverend William Haetke, officiating. May she rest in peace.
