John Brolsma of Woodward, and Geo. Brolsma of Loustree, were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. John Brolsma last Tuesday.

Mrs. J. Brolsma, Nee Ada Van Pelt, died very suddenly Saturday evening at about 10:30 at the age of 29 years. In the morning of that day she gave birth to a baby boy ad remained unconscious for several hours and later had several convulsions which caused her death. She is survived by her husband and four children including the baby, wh is in the care of Mr. and Mrs. Stadt. Her death is further mourned by her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Van Pelt and the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Ellerrbroek of Sheldon, Robert, William, Lucilia, Virgel and Veranel, here, Mrs. C. Schaap of Chicago and Leonard of Sioux Cty. Funeral services were held from the house on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and at 2 O’clock from the American Reformed church.

From the Alton Democrat, 7 April 1917, Orange City news: Miss Margaret De Booy has been assisting a few days at the post office during the absence of J. Brolsma. Mr. and Mrs. J. Bos, of Monroe, S.D., have adopted the new born baby boy of J. Brolsma. The mother died last Saturday.
