Monday in Hull's hospital, Chas Kuhl died at the age of 54 years. He was born in Germany. The children are: Mrs. H. Van der Vegte, Mrs. Jno. Brandts, Fred Kuhl, Mrs. H. Niesink, Mrs. H. Van de Weerd, Mrs. H. Van Oort, George, Della, Hattie, Charles and Albert/John. The funeral was Thursday at the First Reformed church.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), November 10, 1922:

Charles Kuhl, one of our Sioux Center pioneers, died at the Hull Hospital Oct. 30th. Mr. Kuhl had been sick for a long time with pneumonia and finally succumbed to this disease. Mr. Kuhl was a farmer living a few miles northeast of town on the old home place where he has lived for many years.

Mr. Charles Kuhl was born in Germany in the year 1868, and came to this country in his youth. Mrs. Kuhl preceded him in death several years ago leaving Mr. Kuhl with a large family of children. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. H. Vander Vegte, Mrs. John Brandts, Mrs. H. Niessink, Mrs. H. Vander Weerd, Mrs. H. Van Bart, Fred C. Kuhl, George Kuhl, Della, Hattie, Charles Jr. and Johnnie Kuhl.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at the First Ref. church.--Sioux Center Times.

From the Alton Democrat, November 4, 1922, Hull news:

Mr. Charles Kuhl died Monday noon of diabetes at the local hospital having been confined there for a few months.

Family notes in his wife Dellia's obituary show him born in June 1866.
If he was age 54 at the time of death, he would have been born ca. 1868.
The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Kuhl, Charles, b. 1860 d. 1922, Memory Gardens, Sioux Center IA. It spells his wife's name as Della.
