Services For Mrs. Boekhout Held Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the Rock Valley funeral home and at 1: 30 at the First Christian Reformed church for Mrs. Mary Boekhout. Rev. M. Doorenbos officiated and burial was in Valley View cemetery.

Mrs. Boekhout, a Rock Valley resident for the last 50 years, died Thursday night at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
She had reached the age of 73 years.
Mrs. Boekhout was born in The Netherlands June 28, 1884 to Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Ver Burg. In December of 1903, she was united in marriage to Nick Vande Vegte.

Survivors include five daughters Mrs. John Vanden Bosch and Mrs. Richard Postma, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Arie Van Grouw of Orange City, Mrs. Henry De Kruyf of Artesia, CA. Mrs. H.D. Driesen, of Rock Valley, Henry of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Tony Driesen of CA. two sons, Bert Vande Vegte of Bellflower, CA. and Henry Vande Vegte of Rock Valley: 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and one son died in infancy and Mr. Vande Vegte proceeded her in death in March of 1923. In 1936 she was married to Steven Boekhout, who died in 1945; two brothers, Pete and Bert Ver Burg, also preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Leonard and Marvin Vanden Bosch, John Vande Vegte, Clarence and Donald Postma and Eugene Van Grou, nephews of the deaceased.
