Willie Danforth Work

Mr. W. D. Work, formerly a resident of this place, died Friday evening in a hospital at Slayton, Minn., after a lingering illness of several years. Mr. Pearl Work went to Slayton and brought the remains to Boyden Saturday evening. The funeral services were held at the residence of C. E. Work, brother of the deceased, Rev. Niel Stewart of the U. P. church officiating. A large number of old time friends attended the funeral service to show their respects and express their sympathy to the bereaved. The casket was covered with many beautiful flowers. The remains were laid to rest in the Boyden cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. F. G. Wagner, and Mrs. V. G. Powers, of Sanborn, nieces of the deceased, and Mrs. E. S. Thayer of Rock Valley.
Willie Danforth Work was born October 21, 1860, at Sheffield, Illinois. In 1871 he moved with the rest of the family to Senthen, Iowa, where he resided until 1884, when he came to Boyden. In 1894 he moved to Slayton, Minn., where he resided until his death which occurred Friday evening May 7, 1915.
The deceased leaves to mourn his departure, three brothers and one sister: C. E. and P. M. Work of Boyden, Henry Work of Havana, S. D., and Mrs. C. A. Brown, of Cookesville, Ill.
