Augustus William Harbolt who has been a resident of Hawarden for 35 years passed away at 5 o’clock Wednesday morning at his home in this city, after an immediate illness of a few days from pneumonia. He had been in poor health for the past three years, suffering from rheumatism and other complications. The funeral services will be held from the home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon and interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Augustus William Harbolt was born in Sweden May 12, 1861, and came to this country when 21 years of age. He first located in Des Moines where he was united in marriage with Miss Matilda Carlson May 20, 1883. They moved to Calliope in 1883 and have since made their home in this community.

Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive him. Clarence, who is now in France, and Florence and Clarice, who are at home.

Mr. Harholt was a plumber by trade and was the first plumber to locate here. He continued this vocation until a few years ago when his failing health necessitated his giving up the work. Harholt was held in high regard by all who knew him. He was ever accommodating, jovial and kind.

In his death the sorrowing wife loses a faithful husband, the children an affectionate father, and the community a good citizen. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all.
