MRS. NICK HANSEN,--LIFELONG RESIDENT--DIES AT ALTON

Mrs. Nick Hansen, lifelong resident of the Alton Community, beloved by a host of friends as well as by her devoted family, died early Thursday morning at her home in Alton.

Margaret Klein was born January 23, 1886 to Jacob and Mary (Haupert) Klein, pioneer residents of the Alton vicinity. She was married September 6, 1910 to Mr. Hansen, who survive her, with eight children: Florence, Sioux City; Joseph, Alton; Luella, Mrs. Leo Henrich, Archer; Alfred and Everist, Granville; Sylvester, Alton; Frances, Sioux City; Nicholas, Alton; and 32 grandchildren. A daughter died in infancy.

Other survivors include one brother, Ray Klein of Alton, six sisters; Sylvina (Mrs. Joe) Schaul, Alton; Anna (Mrs. Theo.) Huss, Faulkton, South Dakota; Elizabeth, Sister Mary Verna; Mary, Lena, and Christine Klein, all of Alton.

Mrs. Hansen was a faithful member if St. Mary’s Rosary Society, St. Mary’s Guild, C.D.A. Court Joan of Arc, Remsen.

Solemn Requiem High Mass was held at St. Mary’s Church Saturday, February 26, at 10:30 A.M. Reverend Karl Hansen was Celebrant; Reverend Nicholas Becker, Deacon; Reverend Lawrence Klein, Sub-Deacon.

Many were present from a distance and from Alton and neighboring towns to honor the memory of a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a friend.

Out-of-town relatives present included Messrs. and Mesdames Ben Hansen, Whittemore; R.F. Remer, Sioux City; Eugene Bowar, Faulkton, South Dakota; Mrs. Margaret Klein, Granville; Maude Esse, Sioux City; Marcella O’Meara, Faulkton, South Dakota; Mrs. Clarence Sturdevant, Brookings, South Dakota.

Messrs. and Mesdames Peter Klein, Joe M. Klein, Robert Klein, Joe Klein, Art Klein; Mrs. Leo Hansen, Priscilla Klein, Ann Guckenberger, Odilo Hansen, Harold Hansen, Mrs. John Nemmers, Mrs. Ray Entringer, all of Dell Rapids, South Dakota.
