From the Sioux County Index (Hull), August 11, 1922:

Baby Died.

A tiny baby boy arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert De Jong east of Hull, one day last week. The little one was very frail and died Thursday morning, August 10th. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to this home, where the joy of a first-born was turned so suddenly into mourning.

A news note in the Alton Democrat, Hull news, August 19, spells the surname De Young.

The Sioux County Index has Herbert De Jong (1892-1967) with wife Goldie VanRoekel (1897-1984), who may be the parents. There is no entry for a baby dying at this time, or for a Herbert under any variant of DeJong.
