Ken Wayne Remmerde was born on Dec. 28, 1942 in Rock Valley, IA to JOhn and Marie (Sandbulte) Remmerde.

He was married to Helen Driesen, the love of his life for over 50 years.

Kenneth passed away on Wed. Feb. 17, 2016.

As a freedom-loving patriotic American Ken was proud of his Dutch lineage, his rural Iowa upbringing, and his family farming heritage. He was patient, kind, generous, and loving to his wife and children. And most of all, he was thankful to his Savior Jesus Christ and sought to praise God in all he did.

Kenneth farmed in northwest IA. until the early 1970's, when he moved west and built a chicken egg ranch in Ontario, CA. In 1980, he started a dairy farm in Turner, OR. He moved to the Aumsville, OR. area in the mid 80's where he remained for many years. He operated his own long haul truck for most of of the last 20 years, logging over 2 million miles transporting goods all over the USA.

Ken passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of Feb. 17, 2016 at the age of 73 from an aortic aneurysm. While he will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, he was prepared and eager to move on to the glorious afterlife and into the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anna Marie De Boer.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three children; Randy, Karen (Travis) Robison, Mike; grandchild, Tyler Robison; his sisters, Johanna (Mike) Overman, Phyllis Wasmund, and brother Herb.

A memorial service was held on Feb 25, at the Salem First Church of the Nazarene, and Pstor Tim Crump officiated.
