Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson were conducted Saturday, Oct. 10, from the Hope Reformed Church of rural George with The Rev. Raymond Denekas officiating.
Special music for the service was soloist Jim DeGooyer who sang two numbers with Mrs. Marlene Stubbe as the organist.

...Casket bearers for Mrs. Johnson were: Randy Rosenboom, William Vierhout, Mark Bruns, Tim Bruns,Bud Johnson and Gerald Kleene. Interment was in the Evergreen Lawn cemetery at George with Vogelaar-Bolin Funeral Service in charge.

Mrs. Ann Johnson was born Jan. 6, 1917, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Boeyink) Kleene in Sioux county, Iowa. She lived her youth in the Boyden and Hull areas.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Sheldon Comm. Hospital, following a car accident, reaching the age of 70 years, nine months and two days.
Survivors of the couple are: three sons: Arthur D. and Allen P. Johnson, both of Spencer, Ia. and James F. Johnson of Brandon, S.D., three daughters: Judith (Mrs. LeRoy Griesse) of Rock Rapids; Bonnie (Mrs. Lonnie Kruger) of Little Rock and Norma (Mrs. David Winkel) of George; 14 grandchildren. Mr. Johnson also leaves three sisters: Nina (Mrs. Earl Voss) of Little Rock; Mrs. Louise Kruse of DeSmet, S.D. and Marie (Mrs. Ervin Bruns) of Sibley; and one brother, Roy Johnson of Rock Rapids. Mrs. Johnson also leaves three sisters; Mrs. Johanna DeVos of Hull, Mrs. Ida Vierhout of Melvin and Mrs. Clara Rosenboom of Edna.
