Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson were conducted Satruday, Oct. 10, from the Hope Reformed Church of rural George with The Rev. Raymond Denekas officiating.
Special music for the service was soloist Jim DeGooyer who sang two numbers with Mrs. Marlene Stubbe as the organist.

Serving as casket bearers for Mr. Johnson were : Dennis Kruse, LeRoy Kruger, LeRoy Kruse, Harry Meyerhoff, Marlyn Johnson and Mike Johnson....Military rites for Mr. Johnson were conducted by Jack Sauter Post No. 404 of George. Interment was in the Evergreen Lawn cemetery in George with Vogelaar-Bolin Funeral Service in charge.

Arthur P. Johnson was born Aug. 7, 1919, the son of Frank and Johanna (Schnepf) Johnson in Lyon county, Iowa. He lived his youth in the George and Doon areas. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1942. He was united in marriage to Anna Kleene on Sept. 12, 1944, at Sioux Center and the couple lived in the George and Edna area and the last few years in George. Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Sheldon Comm. Hospital from injuries in a car accident that occurred Wednesday, Oct. 7, 4 1/2 miles north of Boyden. He was 68 years, two months and two days at the time of his passing.
