Clara (Kleene) Rosenboom was born April 8, 1919 at Hull, IA the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Boeyink) Kleene. As a young girl she attended country school. After her education she cared for her family until she was united in marriage to Elmer Rosenboom on November 27, 1947, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA. Clara and Elmer resided in Edna, IA following their marriage where she lived her entire married life. She worked as a housekeeper for many years at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, IA until her retirement in 1981. In 1996 Clara suffered a stroke followed by a second stroke in August of 1999. This past Monday Clara suffered a third stroke which hospitalized her at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital. Clara enjoyed sewing, being outdoors and gardening and was a member of Hope Reformed Church of George. This past Wednesday morning Clara died at the age of eighty at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Rosenboom of Edna, IA; two sons, Randy Rosenboom of Edna, IA; and Ron Rosenboom and his wife Beverly of Sturgis, SD; along with three grandchildren, Jody Rosenboom of Rock Rapids, IA; Emily and Todd Rosenboom of Sturgis, SD; and one sister, Ida Vierhout of Melvin, IA.
Clara was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth; one grandson, Troy Rosenboom; three brothers, John, Henry, and Wilbert Kleene; two sisters, Johanna De Vos; and Anna Johnson.
