Florence Hamann, age 80, of Rock Valley, died Saturday, January 31, 1998 at the Sioux Valley Hospital at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at Rock Valley, Iowa. Burial will be at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Rock Valley. Father Schumacher will be officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday with a Prayer Service at 8:00 P.M. at the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley.

Florence was born March 5, 1917 at Rock Valley, daughter of Jerry and Susan (McGuire) Aurit. She married Ted Hamann on February 22, 1934 at Luverne, Minnesota. Together they lived in Rock Valley. Florence was employed at Rock Valley’s Orpheum Theater before being a Foster Grandparent of Rock Valley School for the last twenty years. Ted died October 9, 1983.

Surviving relatives include two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Jerry Robinson of Cedar Falls, South Dakota, Judy and Herman Graves of Rock Valley, Iowa; one son and his wife, Steve and Christina Hamann of Garden City, Kansas; five grandchildren Kim, Kent, Keith Graves, Kerri Horstman, Austin Hmann, Caitlyn Hamann; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Aurit of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sister, Josephine Lottman of Canton, South Dakota.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; brother Lawrence “Bub” Aurit, sister, Frances Ver Mulm.
