Verlyn Glenn Beermann, 61, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Hawarden, died Wed. May 25, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sat. May 28 at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Burial followed at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Verlyn Glenn Beermann was born Jan. 2, 1955 in Hawarden, the son of Darlene (Beermann) Zoeller. He grew up in Hawarden where he attended school.
Verlyn worked as a counselor for the homeless in Omaha, before moving to Sioux Falls. He worked at Goodwill in Sioux Falls since 1991. Verlyn was honored as the 1,000,000th rider on the Sioux Falls Transit System ini 2008.
He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. He liked to collect miniature tractors and listening to old country western songs, especially those sung by Johnny Cask. Verlyn liked to joke around and loved his two dogs, Ike and Cammy.

Verlyn is survived by a sister, Carla Zoeller of Sioux Falls; and a nephew and niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2005; and uncle and aunts.
