MABEL HAMMOND DIED IN CALIFORNIA

Mable Hammond, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Hammond, early settlers of Reading Township, but who left years ago for California, passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bushby at Pomora, California, unexpectedly at 10:30 Sunday morning. Her remains are being brought back here and will arrive for interment Saturday and she will be buried in the Hammond lot in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Elmer Bushby and Miss Stillman are accompanying the remains. Short services will be held at the cemetery with Reverend George Scheider in charge.

Miss Hammond was a sister of Mrs. Elmer Bushby. She was well known in this neighborhood and has many friends who mourn her untimely death. Deceased was reared in this community and for many years taught school here going to California fifteen years ago to spend her declining years.
