After several days of severe sickness one of the Wilcoxen triplets passed away Tuesday morning about ten o'clock. Both of the others are very sick, and the doctor and nurse give out but little hope for their recovery. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon.

Alton Democrat issue of 11 Jan 1913, Ireton column.

The Wilcoxen triplets are dead. They would now be about four months old. They had not grown strong and were always quite puny. Some five weeks ago they all took sick, and had spasms and fever. The services of a trained nurse were secured and everything that could possibly be done by nursing and medical skill had been done. The last of the three died Monday afternoon. The funeral of the first one was held last Thursday and of the other two, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Masters having charge. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Wilcoxen in their sad bereavement.
