Granville: The community was shocked Saturday, Feb. 15th, by the sudden death of Joseph Roth which occurred on the streets at about four-thirty. Mr. Roth was apparently in his usual good health and was going to the depot to take the train for Dell Rapids South Dakota, when he was stricken with a hemorrhage of the brain and died within a few minutes. Joseph Roth was born in Germany, Nov. 15th, 1858, and died Feb. 15th, 1913, reaching the age of 54 years and 3 months. He immigrated to this country and settled at Dunn Indiana where he made his home until about four years ago, when he settled near Granville, where he has made a host of friends by his upright ways. His remains were taken to Dunn Indiana and laid beside those of his wife, who passed away some years ago. Mr. Roth leaves a son, Joseph, and a daughter, Mrs. L. Schwebach, to mourn his loss, besides his many friends.
