From the Rock Valley Bee, March 29, 1989: Letters to the Editor:

This is to inform you that Caroline R. Thayer, widow of Starr Thayer, passed on to Glory the 23rd of February in Houston, Texas at the age of 99 years. She suffered about a week and on the 22nd of February she was terribly ill. I was with her all night and all day the 23rd as she stopped fighting at 2:00 p.m.

She had a heart condition we were not aware of. The last three weeks she did not eat, just sleep and talk to the loved ones gone on before -- especially her mother, Mrs. O. G. Ruiniger[i.e., Reiniger], Sr. She is beside my dad; son, David Starr and Olin Edward and my husband, Raymond Barr.

Jessie Ellen Barr, daughter. We lost daddy (Starr Thayer) in 1959; David Starr Thayer in 1965; Olin Edward Thayer in 1982 and Raymond Barr (my husband) in 1988.
