Former Resident Dead

Mrs. A. Ykema passed away at her home in Grand Rapids, Mich., last Saturday, aged seventy-three years and three months. Mrs. Ykema formerly lived in Rock Valley for a number of years before moving to Grand Rapids two years ago.
The subject of the sketch was born in Holland where the greater part of her life was spent. She came to this country in 1914 with her family and settled at Hancock Minn., A year later they came to Rock Valley and Mrs. Ykema lived here until she went to Grand Rapids to make her home. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.
Mrs. Ykema, leaves two sons Henry of Rock Valley vicinity and Dick of Doon and four daughters, Mrs. Reinsma, Redlands, California, Mrs. D. Heinsma, Rock Rapids, Mrs.
VandeerSpool, Hull and Miss Emma Ykema who lived with her mother.
The remains were brought to Rock Valley for funeral services and burial, arriving here Thursday morning, and services were held in the Christian Reformed Church Thursday afternoon.
