FINAL SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. EARLEY

Funeral services for Alice Earley, 89, longtime Hawarden resident who formerly taught school here, were held at 9 o’clock Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Reverend L. Friedman officiating. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of the Bernard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Earley died Wednesday night of last week at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Abel Berglund, with whom she made her home the past five years.

She was born November 15, 1868, at Fabula, Iowa, and came here with her parents who homesteaded near McNally. She was educated in Le Mars and taught school in and around Hawarden for 20 years.

In 1908 she married Albert G. Earley in Hawarden. The couple farmed southeast of Hawarden until their retirement in 1942 when they moved to town.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Delores, at the age of 15 in 1928 and her husband who died October 26, 1952. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. G.L. Parkingson of Cresno, Iowa and Mrs. Berglund; a son, Frank Earley of Primghar, Iowa, and seven grandchildren.
