Alice Groen, 82, of George, Iowa, died on Thursday, December 25, 1997, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Services were held on Monday, December 29, 1998, at Bethel Reformed Church in Ellsworth, Minnesota, with Dr. David Ullom officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Groen was born February 18, 1915, at the family home north of George, the daughter of Klass nd Gertie (Rieter) Nagel. She married Orvel Groen on February 17, 1938 near Ellsworth, Minnesota.

She was a lifelong member of Bethel Reformed Church, and a lifelong resident of Lyon County.

Survivors include her husband, Orvel; four daughters and their husbands, Alvira and John Honken of Rushmore, Minnesota, Delores and Delbert Krull of Little Rock, Iowa, Glenda and Gary Ten Napel of Ireton, Iowa and Janell and Brent Klaahsen, also of Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles; an infant daughter; a brother, Henry Nagel; and a sister, Jennie Groen.
