Mrs. Jacob Groot, 55, passed away at a local hospital Wednesday March 23 at 9 o'clock p.m. following a paralytic stroke and an illness of several weeks duration.

Mrs. Groot, nee Mary Droeger was orphaned at an early age and was cared for in the home of an aunt, Mrs. A. Cupido and later in the P. Sluis home.

She was married to Jacob Groot who survives her. She is also survived by one son, the Reverend Mr. Clarence Groot of Middleburg, two brothers Albert of Sibley and Sip of Chicago and one sister Kate, Mrs. Kinsman of Alton.

Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church Saturday with the Reverend Mr. R. Bronkema officiating.

Interment was made in the Orange City Cemetery.
