Mrs. Bastiaan (Lydia) Groeneweg, 84 years old, passed away at a Sioux Falls Hospital on February 3rd, where she has been hospitalized since surgery last week.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Februry 5th, 1:30 p. m. , at the Porter Funeral Home with Reverend J. Van Zweden officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Groeneweg, the former Lydia VanDen Bosch, was born on December 11, 1890 in Harrison, South Dakota.

She married Bastiaan Groeneweg on February 16, 1909 in Rock Valley. Mr. Groeneweg proceeded her in death on June 20th, 1959. The couple farmed in the Rock Valley area all of their married life.

Survivors include 5 sons, Leonard, John, Simon, Walter and Albert, all of Rock Valley; 4 daughters, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Van Ginkel of Rock Valley, Mrs. Dick (Rena) DeVries of Orange City, la, Mrs. Clarence (Lyda) Terpstra of Hawarden, Iowa, and Mrs. John (Pauline) Bauman of Rock Valley; one sister, Mrs. Barney Bajema, Rock Valley; two half-brothers, Tom and John VanDen Bosch of Rock Valley; two step-brothers, Harry and Jake Abma; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ed Silvis and Mrs. Henry De Wit; 44 grandchildren, 52 great grand children; 5 great-great-grand children.

She was proceeded in death by her husband and one son, Paul who passed away November 13,1934. Services were under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.
