Peter Zwagerman Rites at Hospers

Peter Zwagerman, 91, early resident at Hospers, died at the Orange City hospital April 30, with funeral services Monday afternoon from the Christian Reformed church, Rev. Bonnema officiating. Mr. Zwagerman was born Dec. 27, 1863 in the Netherlands and came to the U.S. with his parents as a child. He was married March 25, 1886 to Bertha Finger at Ackley, Iowa.
His wife died Sept. 10, 1944 and Mr. Zwagerman has since lived with his children, who are Mrs. Ben Vander Griend of Middleburg, Dick of Hospers, Mrs. Wm. Hofmeyer, of Hospers, Mrs. Jake VanderLeen of Boyden, Mrs. H. Vogel of Lynden. Wash. Edward died in 1953, Jake in 1940 and Henry in 1902. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren, a brother, Jake of Sanborn and sister, Lena Kooiker of Grand Rapids, Mich.
