Mrs. George E. Gould, 47, a resident of Hawarden 14 years, died Sunday at the Hawarden Hospital.

Minnie Hazel Hopkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Hopkins, was born May 13, 1905, at Derby, Iowa. At the age of five she moved with her parents to Kimball, South Dakota, where she was married to George E. Gould February 2, 1923. After her marriage she continued to live at Kimball, but later moved to Verdel, Nebraska. The family came to Hawarden from Verdel in September, 1938.

She accepted her Christian faith and was baptized in 1917. After coming to Hawarden she was associated with the Baptist Church and was a member of the Good Will Class of this church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, being a past president of the latter.

Survivors are the widower; two children, Dale E. of Sioux City and Mrs. Russell Bergdale of Hawarden; her mother, Mrs. Eliza Hopkins of Mitchell, South Dakota; a sister, Mrs. Art Stiefvater of Plankinton, South Dakota; two brothers, Hollie of Niabrara, Nebraska, and Clarence Hopkins of Verdel, Nebraska, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon in the Barnard Funeral Home and in the Baptist church at 2 o'clock with Reverend Leon Nelson officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.
