Larry Goebel was born January 14, 1918 on a farm northeast of Luxemburg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Goebel and resided on the farm all his life. He attended a rural school and also Holy Trinity School. On September 8, 1943 he was married to Marie Steffen, who survives with two sons, Charles 4, and Mark 3, also his mother, Mrs. Catherine Goebel of Luxemburg; three brothers, Raymond and Eugene of Luxemburg, Leander of Masonville; six sisters, Martha, Mrs. Hugo Lechtenberg of Granville, Irene, Mrs. Harold Block of Lancaster, Wisconsin; Othilda, Mrs. James Sherman of East Dubuque, Illinois; Helen, Mrs. Stanley Block of Lancaster, Wisconsin; Louise, Mrs. Arthur Ries of New Vienna and Virginette, Mrs. Clete Their of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his father.

Attending the funeral from Granville were Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Lechtenberg, Mr. and Mrs. John Goebel, Miss Anna Goebel, Mrs. Cecelia Klein and son, Nick.
