From the Hull Index, January 20, 1922:

Mrs. John Slothouber died Saturday and was buried Thursday. She was a young woman of about thirty-five years of age. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The Index joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.

From the Sioux Center Nieuwsblad, February 1, 1922: Hull news:

Mrs. J. Slothouber overleed een week geleden, haar man en twee kleine kinders, waarven de jongste noch maar eenige weken telt achter latende in behoeftige onstandigheden. Mrs. L. Heerenga was aldaar een behulpsame buurvrouw.

Mrs. J. Slothouber died a week ago, leaving behind her husband and two small children, the youngest only a few weeks old, in needy circumstances. Mrs. L. Heerenga, a neighbor, was there helping out.

From the Alton Democrat, January 28, 1922: Hull news:

Mrs. John Slothouber died the past week. The family have been living on the John Hymans farm north of Hull the past two years. Mrs. Slothouber had not enjoyed robust health for some time and was but 35 years of age at the time of her death.
