From the Boyden Reporter, January 26, 1922:

OBITUARY
HENRY DIEKEVER PASSES AWAY

Henry Diekever, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Diekever, passed away on Sunday morning [Jan. 22] at about 5 o'clock, after an illness of several days with heart trouble. Funeral services for the deceased were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the house and at 1:30 p.m. at the Dutch Reformed church, with Rev. J. M. Lumkes officiating. Interment was made in the family lot at the Boyden cemetery.

Henry Diekever was born in the year of 1902, and was 19 years, 2 months and 22 days of age at the time of his death. He is the youngest son of Mr. ad Mrs. G. J. Diekever, and besides his parents he is survived by two brothers and one sister, Ed Diekever, Cornelius Diekever and Mrs. Jan Scholten. Deceased was born in the state of Michigan, his parents moving to this locality some years ago.

The Reporter extends its heartfelt sympathy to the Diekever family in their hour of bereavement.

A brief note in the Alton Democrat, Boyden news, January 28, 1922, says that he had suffered from heart trouble ever since a child. It spells his surname De Kiever.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Diekevers, Henry, b. 1903 d. 1922, Sheridan Twp Cem Boyden IA. All of the other family surnames in the Index are also spelled Diekevers.
