MRS. GLASSCOCK FUNERAL HELD LAST TUESDAY

Mrs. Thomas J. Glasscock, 85, wife of Dr. Thomas J. Glasscock of Hawarden, died last Saturday, October 5, at Mapes Nursing Home. Her funeral was held at the Hawarden Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon with Dr. G.S. Bruland officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Don Hummel was organist and Mrs. Peter Schemmer sang “The Old Rugged Cross.” Casket bearers were Ray Keehn, Bernard Anderson, Don Hummel, Fred Vernon, Warren Wasser, and L.R. Ball.

Mrs. Glasscock was born Sadie T. Savre on September 8, 1883. She was married to Dr. Thomas J. Glasscock on November 12, 1912, in Valley City, north Dakota. The couple moved to Hawarden in 1931.

She was active in the M.I.C., the Methodist Women’s Organization, and Loyal Chapter 204, Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dennis Shay of Des Moines; a son, Dr. R.C. Glasscock of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and four grandchildren.
