John A. Gilmer, 63, of Le Mars passed away at his home last Wednesday evening, July 29, following an illness of three weeks.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with Reverend T. C. Siebert in charge. Burial was in the Le Mars Cemetery.

John Allen Gilmer was born in Odebolt October 23, 1878, where he spent his boyhood days. Later he came to Ireton and farmed near here until about 25 years ago when he moved to Le Mars. In Le Mar he operated oil station and worked at other occupations. He was married to Emma Barkley at Fort Dodge.

He is survived by his wife and one son. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters.

The deceased is well and favorably known to older residents of Ireton and vicinity. Several from here attended the funeral.
