Miss Olive Gilmer died Monday, April 14th, at the home of her sister, Mrs. J.L. Brown of Eagle Township. She was born in Pleasant Valley, Doudas Co,. Ontario, November 13, 1847, and died at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 1 day.

At the age of seven she came with her parents to Iowa, settling near Maquoketa. In 1869 she removed with her parents to Winstead, McLeod County, Minnesota, where her mother died June 26, 1881. On March 10, 1885, she came with her father and sister to Ireton, settling on the farm three and one-half miles north of here, where she has made her home, except for a few months each year, which she spent at the home of her sister. Her father died December 20, 1895.

She leaves to mourn one brother, John Gilmer of Lake View, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. J.L. Brown of Eagle township, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Reverend W.J. Creswell. The remains were laid to rest in the Ireton Cemetery.
