Mrs. Mary (Middagh) Gilmer passed away on Friday evening, November 28th, at her home in Lake View after a two weeks illness with typhoid fever, at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 28 days. On Saturday morning the remains were taken to Ireton, the family’s old home, for burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton, Sioux County, Iowa. Owing to the fact that Mr. Gilmer has not yet returned home, details could not be secure.

Besides the husband,John, several children survive. Of these J.E. Gilmer of Schaller, and Allen and Anna Gilmer of Ireton were during their mother’s illness. We understand there are two daughters out west.

The Gilmers had sold their property here and had purchased another at Ireton, where they intended to remove shortly.
