Death: February 19, 1920Jacob Giefer was born in Prussia in 1844, fought in the Prussian Army during the Austrian-Prussian War and Franco-Prussian War, and then came to the US in 1871. He married Annie Kerten in 1873 in Ohio. They had 8 children.
He was buried at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hospers, Sioux County, Iowa.
