Funeral services were held Monday for Floyd E. Giffin of Hawarden who died June 14 while visiting at Crosby, Minnesota. Services were officiated by the Reverend Herbert Young at the Associated Church in Hawarden with burial at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Giffin was born May 24, 1901 at Rossie. He married Gladys Rue on December 27, 1926 at Jackson, Minnesota. He was a cafe operator for many years in Hawarden.

He is survived by his widow; sons, Duane of Austin, Minnesota, Daryl of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Robert of Minneapolis, Roger of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Kenneth of Hawarden; daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Ruth) Jaqua of Le Mars, Mrs. Gary (Holly) Schoenrock of Atlantic, Mrs. Keith (Karen) Newman of Sioux City and Mrs. Gordon (Avis) Jager of Hawarden; 25 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Hans Hanson of Heron Lake, Minnesota, Mrs. Paul Worthington and Mrs. Harold Jahr both of Cashmere, Washington, and Mrs. Osborne Hillary of Spirit Lake; brothers, Cecil of Spirit Lake, Mervin of Jackson, Minnesota, Wayne of Chelan, Washington, Donald of Sutherland, Oregon, and Warren of Yakina, Washington.
