Obituary.
The funeral of Mrs. Rev. J. M. Voortman was held on Saturday with services at the Christian Reformed church in charge of Rev. G. H. Douwstra of Hospers, Rev. Kuiper of Rock Valley and Rev. Mulder of Sheldon.

Mrs. Voortman, nee Carrie Heynen, was the youngest daughter of Mr. A. Heynen of Hospers. She was born in Gelderland, Netherlands and came with her parents to America in 1892, locating near Sioux Center. In 1908 she was married to Rev. Voortman and they lived at Middleburg, Iowa; Moline, Mich.; Sheldon, Ia.; and now at Leighton, Iowa, where she died as mentioned last week, at the age of 38 years. Besides her husband and two small children and her aged father she is survived by two brothers, Rev. Heynen of Carnes and William Haynen of Sioux Center and two sisters, Mrs. S. Hulstein of Sioux Center and Mrs. Rev. Vanderheide of Hospers.--Hospers Tribune.

YOUNG MOTHER PASSES TO THE GREAT BEYOND
Mrs. Rev. Voortman Dies--Funeral Saturday at Hospers--Died at Lytton, Ia.

Mrs. J. M. Voortman of Lytton, Ia., passed away on January 3rd, from the effects of blood poison, at the age of 38 years. A. Heinen of Hospers is her father. She was born in the Netherlands and came to the United States with her parents in 1892. She was married in 1909 to J. M. Voortman, a minister, and two children were born to them, Dorothy and Greta. Besides her husband and father, Mrs. Voortman is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Rev. H. J. Heinen of Carnes, Mrs. M. Vander Heide of Hospers, Mrs. S. Hulstein of Sioux Center and Wm. Heinen, Sioux Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Hospers, in the Christian Ref. church, with Rev. H. Kuiper and Rev. Mulder in charge. Burial will be at Sioux Center.
