Miss Joyce Bolks, age 77, of Sioux Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at her residence.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, December 30, at 1:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. The Rev. Roger Voskuil will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation with the family will be after 12noon on Friday at the funeral home.

Joyce Mardell was born on November 19, 1939, in Hull, the daughter of Lloyd and Harretta (Vande Berg) Bolks. She was raised at Hull, where she graduated from the public high school.

She also attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Sioux City and became a registered nurse. She was employed in Denver, Colorado, and Sioux City.

In 1992, Joyce became a resident of the New Homestead in Sioux Center.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Hull.

Survivors include her twin brothers and their wives, Roger and Helen Bolks, of Sioux Center, and Ronald and Donna Bolks, of Wyoming, Michigan; and eight nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
