Frank Vos, 73, of Jackson, NE passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Father Jeff Mollner officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation with the family present will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a scriptural prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the funeral home.

Frank was born on August 16, 1943 in Hawarden, IA, the son of Arie and Effie (VanDieren) Vos. He attended school in Hawarden, then helped on the family farm. Frank married Darlene Albenesius on August 18, 1967 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, NE. The couple settled in rural Jackson and raised four children. He worked at IBP for over 40 years, working his way up to Foreman. He spent his retirement working part time and socializing with his buddies at the Crystal Cafe.

Frank loved to be outdoors and worked for area farmers during planting and harvesting seasons. He also loved to watch Husker football.

Survivors include his children, Chris (Beth) Vos of Omaha, NE, Tonia (Troy) Emmons of Emerson, NE, Danies Lundquist of Sioux City, IA, and Veronica (Jeff) Schmidt of Hubbard, NE; grandchildren, Jonathon and Caleb Vos, Trevon, Tori, Travis, and Tyler Emmons, Makayla and Derek Lundquist, and Brent and Brooklynn Schmidt: 4 great-grandchildren, Kiyra Kyle, and Jayden, Hailey and Brian Lundquist; sisters, Jo (Willard) Kuenen of Alton, IA and Evelyn (Mel) Bajema of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a brother-in-law, Gary Madtsen of Luverne, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene on September 14, 1998; his parents, Arie and Effie Vos; a brother, Leonard Vos; sister, Alida Madtsen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emmett and Ione Albenesius; and a sister-in-law, Dee Retland.
