JOHN DEN BOER

John Den Boer passed away at the home of his son, John Den Boer, Jr., six miles west of Rock Valley, Sunday [Nov. 20] at the advanced age of seventy-nine years, nine months and three days, his death being due to pneumonia.

Mr. Den Boer was born in Holland, February 17, 1942[i.e., 1842], where he spent the greater part of his life. His wife preceded him to the better land several years ago, and since that time he had made his home with his son. He came to this country several years ago from Holland, and was known as an upright loyal man, a good neighbor and friend, who was highly esteemed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday and at the Old Reformed church in Rock Valley. The remains were taken to the Valley View Cemetery for burial. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their time of sorrow.
