Funeral Services Held For Arie Van Maanen

Funeral services for Arie Van Maanen, 66, who died Friday at his home in Rock Valley after a long illness, were held Tuesday at 1 p. m. at the Vander Ploeg funeral home and at 1:30 p. m. at the First Christian . Reformed church with Rev. C. Huissen officiating. Burial was in Valley View cemetery. Mr. Van Maanen had been a resident of Sioux county since he was two years old. He was born June 13, 1890, in The Netherlands. He married Jennie De Vries Feb. 16, 1917. He resided on the same farm for over 50 years before retiring three years ago and moving to Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widow; five daughters. Mrs. Richard Stegenga of Luverne, Minn.; Mrs. Herman Kempema of Rock Valley; Mrs. Fred Baker of Sanborn; Mrs. John A. Kempema of George and Mrs. Delbert Kuiken of Des Moines; two sons, Gerrit of Rock Valley and John of Bellflower, Calif.; five sisters; two brothers and 19 grandchildren.
