Walter C. Boogerd, 87, of Hull, died Tuesday, June 8,1993 at his residence. Services were held Friday, June 11, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Phillip Sneller and the Rev. James Boogerd officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Walter was born June 7,1906 at Hull, the son of. James and Agnes (Bouma) Boogerd. He was raised at Hull where he attended Hull Christian School and Western Christian High School. On Feb. 13, 1929 he married Christina Zoet at Hull. The couple farmed north of Hull until about 1956 when they moved into Hull. He was then employed by the city of Hull, including serving as a policeman. He retired about 1972. Mr. Boogerd was a member of the First Reformed Church. He enjoyed woodworking and will be remembered for the many children's toys he made.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, James and Roberta and John and Norma, all of Hull, and Wallace and Beverly of Orange City; two daughters and their husbands, Agnes and John
Scholten of Hull and Harriet and Vernon Haagsma of Pella; a daughter-in-law, Janice, of Hull; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Harold; three brothers, Sidney, Bartel and Charles; and two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Tracy) Vander Kooi and Mrs. John (Sarah) Te Krony.
