DEATH CAME VERY SUDDENLY

The community was shocked Saturday morning when it became known that Mrs. Richard Frederichs had suffered a stroke of apoplexy, caused by uremia poising and an anemic condition. She was stricken at her home about 9:30 in the morning. She had been in her usual health and was busy with her home duties. She was in the basement of her home looking after the furnace when she was stricken. Her two daughters were present in the home and they called their father from the implement house. She was uncurious and appeared to be in much agony. After placing her in bed a physician was called and he did everything possible to make her comfortable but soon found that little hope existed for recovery. She passed away a little after 10 o’clock Saturday evening, surrounded by her loved ones, never having regained consciousness.

Emma Louise Imbrock, the youngest daughter of Henry and Anna Imbrock, was born May 2, 1889, at Deshler, Henry County, Ohio, and was baptized in the Lutheran Church at that place. When she was 3 years old her parents came to this part of Iowa and engaged in farming. Great sorrow came to the family in 1899 when they were bereft of the mother. Two years later the father discontinued farming and with the young daughter went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brunkhorst, who lived on a farm north pf Ireton. Arriving at the age of discretion, the deceased attended the religious school of Pastor Hugo Grimm and on March 27, 1904, was confirmed with seven other young Christians in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ireton. The following years she assisted relatives and friends in various ways. On September 4, 1907, she was united in holy wedlock to Mr. Richard Friederichs of Ireton. They established a home on a farm, two miles west of Ireton, and four years later removed to town where Mr. Friederichs engaged in the implement business. Four children were given to them. One child, an infant daughter, preceded the mother in death. Mrs. Friederichs enjoyed good health until about a year ago. Medical care, however, benefited her to such an extent that all believed her to be on the way to a complete recovery. It was therefore a shock to the entire community when informed that she suffered a stroke of apoplexy which rendered her uncurious until her demise. She departed peacefully, amid the fervent prayers of her loved ones, a few minutes after 10 o’clock Saturday evening, having attained the age of 41 years, 8 months and 15 days.

Her death is mourned by her devoted husband, Richard Friederichs; her children, Dietrich Henry, Mrs. Anna Fett of Craig and Marie Frances; one grandchild; three brothers and two sisters, Herman Imbrock and August Imbrock of Tea, South Dakota; Carl Imbrock of Chester, South Dakota; Mrs. John Jepp of Centerville, South Dakota; and Mrs. Minnie Brunkhorst of Ireton.
